Repacked Gamsol – Odorless Mineral Spirits
Available in 100ml, 60ml, and 30ml plastic bottles with flip-top caps.

This product contains 100% pure odorless mineral spirits (OMS) repacked from the original Gamsol container. Unlike traditional solvents, odorless mineral spirits have harmful aromatic components removed, making them less toxic and safer for artists to use in the studio.

During painting sessions, OMS evaporates more slowly compared to turpentine. In a typical three-hour session, only about 20% of OMS evaporates, while turpentine can evaporate up to 90%, resulting in stronger fumes and higher solvent exposure.

Gamsol is an excellent solvent for thinning Gamblin painting mediums and oil paints, and it is also ideal for general studio use such as cleaning brushes, palettes, and palette knives. It has a flashpoint of 145°F, making it safer to handle compared to many traditional solvents.

Common Uses:

• Thinning oil paints – A small amount effectively softens and loosens stiff oil colors. Avoid excessive thinning with solvent alone, as it may affect the paint’s ability to form a stable film.
• Adjusting painting mediums – Works well with Gamblin Galkyd mediums, which are formulated to accept Gamsol as a thinner. Note: It is not recommended for mediums made with natural resins such as dammar, copal, or mastic, which require stronger solvents like turpentine.
• Studio cleaning – Ideal for cleaning brushes, palettes, and painting tools.
